Averagely, you need 7-8 hours of sleep every night, but it differs for every person. Some people may need as much as 10 hours a night and others need much less.

What is the lifespan of a mattress and how often do I need to replace it?
The average lifespan of a mattress is 6 to 8 years. However, this can be influenced by many factors, some of which include but are not limited to; the weight of the user, a proper foundation or bed frame, environmental conditions and many more. Ultimately, if your mattress begins to sag or is worn and lumpy and you are not having quality sleep on the mattress, it is a pointer that it needs to be replaced.
How does my choice of mattress affect the quality of my sleep?
The right mattress should support you and make you comfortable enough to allow you sleep in one position all night, without tossing and turning. If you experience joint or back aches when you wake up, you do not have the right mattress.

Rotating your mattress helps to increase the lifespan and as such, should be flipped once in 2 weeks for the first three months and once every 2 months thereafter. The first time, turn it over so the top surface is now resting on the foundation, consequently, just spin the mattress from head to toe, leaving the same surface in contact with the foundation. Alternate these two procedures every two months and you can expect a long life from your mattress.
